We had an amazing time at the Southsea Girls Market!
Thank you to Elly who is the founder of the girl gang which is Southsea Girls for inviting us down to host our first ever public event. We had a great time chatting to new people about Free Flow Portsmouth as well as handing out our free bags of sanitary products, pin badges and stickers. We also sold some of our tote bags which all of the money funnels straight back into our project to reinvest and to continue to purchase sanitary products for those in need.
It was also great to meet the local women who were trading at this market and to support their businesses. There were lots of trinkets, crystals, jewellery, skincare and dried flowers available to buy. We bought some lovely pieces of jewellery from Luna Lavari Crystals and some prints from Merylin Moon as well as some keyrings and hair scrunchies from HRM Shop.
Thank you to our sponsors who made this event possible! Massive thank you to Curtis Williams Accountants for supplying our banner, sanitary bags and merch. Thank you to Q Wellness for supplying the beauty sample bags and Morrisons Anchorage Park for the sanitary donations. This event would not have been possible without all of your support.
We had a fabulous evening at the Southsea Girls Prom!
Thank you to Elly and the girls at Southsea Girls for inviting us down to the first Southsea Girls Prom event hosted at The Clubhouse in Southsea. The decor was amazing and we had such a great time!
There was a donation station set up which was a success as we managed to collect a whole big bag full of sanitary products! We are beyond grateful for the consistent support that we receive from the Southsea Girls collective!
The Body Shop Whiteley
It was such a great event, we were greeted by the friendly staff with a glass of bubbles and a goody bag containing The Body Shop products as well as their ‘It’s natural’ tote bag from their movement on reducing the stigma around periods.
We took part in product demonstrations and a skin consultation. It was such a fantastic experience and we are so grateful to have received an invite to attend this event.
It’s great to see such a big brand to be so supportive of menstrual equity and dedicating as much time and resource to ending period poverty and the stigma that surrounds it. As menstruation is a natural, biological process and a basic human right. It’s time to celebrate the process which gives us life.
The Body Shop have been supportive of Bloody Good Period which are a fantastic organisation dedicated to eradicating period poverty and lobbying for the positive change we need in society. The Body Shop have donated period products consistently since 2019 and have even set up a scheme where if you are a member of the ‘Love Your Body’ programme, you can donate your voucher points to Bloody Good Period! 🩸
Thank you to Emma and all of the team at The Body Shop Whiteley for making our experience special. 💚
